The Green Clean Maine crew is made up of upbeat, helpful, hospitality-minded people who like what we do. Cleaning homes is hard work, and it’s not for everyone. But it is also incredibly rewarding. If you enjoy physical work, take pride in your ability to be reliable, helpful, and detail-focused, this might be the job for you.
If you don’t have professional cleaning experience, don’t worry. If you’re ready to learn, we’ll pay you to learn the tricks of our trade, including how to clean homes efficiently, effectively, and safely. You’ll also develop your customer service and communication skills, which often leads to promotions, incentive bonuses, and greater opportunities to move up within the company. You’ll start at $20/hr plus tips, and move up from there.
Unlike other cleaning jobs, we offer a career: full-time, permanent, year-round positions. You’ll get regular opportunities to advance. We don’t cut hours seasonally. All of our employees are W-2 and on payroll – no independent contractor arrangements like some other cleaning jobs you’ll see. We provide everything you’ll need to succeed – and earn a decent living – cleaning homes professionally.

The Green Clean Culture
Most of our long-term employees would describe themselves as helpful, hardworking, detail-focused people who are proud of the impact they have working here every day. We are people who love to clean, and love the relationships we’ve built with our customers (and their pets!).
We support each other, but also enjoy working independently to get the day’s cleaning work done. Management’s biggest role is one of support – making sure you have the tools and confidence you need to succeed. Everyone is encouraged and expected to ask for help when it’s needed, while learning to work independently. In fact, many newer employees report a big boost in personal confidence once they have learned to put their training into practice, and be self-sufficient on a day-to-day basis.
Work-life balance is important here. Which is why we don’t work nights and weekends, and provide generous paid time off. We’re also closed for all major holidays (6 per year), with a bonus day off the Friday after Thanksgiving!
